Hi,
If you have an Ebook would you share what brand and if you like it?
Do you download free books from your local library?
thanks.
1|1|I have a nook. I get books from BN's site and they often have some freebies. Kindle also has some freebie books, but not always the same ones that BN has. You can download free epub books (there's tons of free, copyright expired classics out there to download), but if you want popular books that are out now, you'd have to buy them. |Sara_s_Mom|IClipCoupons@gmail.com|08:46:00|04/02/2011|

I love my Nook and I do download books from the library and I have a 21 day window to read them
I download from Barnes & Nobles from their frees and also they have a free book every Friday.
A lot of the books that are free on Amazon are also free for the Nook.

If you follow select authors you will have to pay 9.99 to 12.99 for new releases and that is why I
always request B&N gift cards for my birthday and Christmas and you add the gift cards to your account at B&N and when
you download a book it comes out of the Gift Cards.

There is no monthly fee once you buy the Nook but you do have to set up an account with Barnes and Noble so when
you make a purchase it comes from gift cards or checking account.

If you are a member of Facebook you can like Nook and they always have some great books and good news for 1.99 or 2.99 to download
and I have read more new authors since I got my Nook and I have found some really interesting reads for very little money.

Downloading from the library is very easy and the good books always have a waiting list but it has never been a long wait for me.

Your Nook will come with a charger and a USP port and you will have to buy a cover for it to protect it

If you just get WIFI you will have to be in a hotspot to download or use your computer to download
The 3G is great because you can download from anywhere and I download a lot of books from my desk at work and in my car
and outside in the yard.

I consider this to be the best investment that I have made for myself in a long time. 4|1|I have a nook and love it!|vickijo|vjdesmond@rochester.rr.com|10:56:24|04/02/2011|

You can download library books on the Nook - not on the kindle.

Every Friday Barnes and Noble gives away a free book. Some I download and others I pass on. But its free so if I question the type of book it is and wonder whether or not I'll want to read it, I just download it for reading later.

I just have the regular nook - not the color. For reading the regular nook is fine. There is no monthly fee. Once you buy it there are no more charges EXCEPT for when you purchase books. Barnes and Nobles website has ALOT of free books. I think there is 1,800,000 of them. You wouldn't want to read all of them but they are there to look through. If you go to their website and search - put 0.00 in the search part and choose nookbooks for the area. You'll see all them come up.

I love it but I suggest you go to B & N and look at them. Read some on one and see what you think. I don't wear my glasses when I read on mine because I set the font at extra large. I really like that!

Thanks!

Please what is the difference between Kindle and nook which one is easier for a beginner like me
or which one holds more books also is it just for reading? 7|3|I think they are both probably the same to use.. beginner wise. |vickijo|vjdesmond@rochester.rr.com|18:47:41|04/02/2011|

I liked the nook better because I can get free books from the libray. You can share a book you have purchased with one other person.

You can get online with the nook but the screen is really too small for much of that. I don't get online except to download my books and that is done simply by hitting a button that updates your barnes and noble content. Really easy.

Thanks!

The nook will hold many many books. I think its around 1500 (but don't quote me on that). You can delete the ones you don't want to keep and keep the others. There is also a slot to put a card in and you can put as many books on that card as it will hold. It all depends on the size of the card you get. Its very similar to a card for a camera that will hold pictures.

Thanks!

I really appreciate the input. I went to barnesandnoble.com and did the search with the 0.00 - wow, there were alot of free books.
THANKS for all the input.

I look on the BN website for the free downlads for the books to read
example James Patterson boy THE TOYS it said the first 21 chapters are free
what excetly does that mean
Thanks again 11|3|it is probably a sample.|vickijo|vjdesmond@rochester.rr.com|19:35:48|04/02/2011|

Many times B&N will let you read a few chapters as a sample (free). Then if you want to finish the book you have to purchase it. Its a good way to see if you like a new author. Usually you can tell in a chapter or two if you like the authors writing style.

Thanks!

the library is the biggest advantage of the Nook over the Kindle because if you really want to do a lot of
reading you need a source to get the books that you want free to read because if you buy all the books you are
going to go broke soon and the Nook does hold 1500 books and that is a lot

If you see a book that you can just buy a few chapters that will be cheaper than buying the entire book and they
do that so you can see if you want the book but I just read the reviews of all books and make my decision.

I do not have the Color Nook and do not know that I will even want that as it is only WIFI now but if they come out with
WIFI-3G or more I will consider getting that.

Another thing I like about the Nook is you can take it to any Barnes and Noble if you are having problems with it and they
can most of the time fix the problem whereas with the Kindle it will have to go back to Amazon. I have never had any problems with
mine but I do love to go to Barnes and Nobles and look at all the covers and just see if there is anything new for the Nook.

I do not miss having the actual paperbacks or hardback books at all and I do like that you can adjust the font especially if your eyes are bad. 12|2|You are the reason I got a nook! Thanks!|vickijo|vjdesmond@rochester.rr.com|19:38:32|04/02/2011|

I was on here a few months ago asking about the two and you convinced me to get the nook. I love it. Thank you for the great advice.

I won't get a nook color. I found out that the battery doesn't last as long with the color screen AND you can't replace the battery yourself. With the regular nook you can replace the battery when it finally won't hold a charge any longer. The nook color is more for reading magazines and things like that. I like to read just books and the regular nook is great for that.

Thanks!
