cheap virgin mobile with the $20 card, which gives me 3 months. :(
I don`t think I can find anything any cheaper? Is there a cheaper one
out?
Only other time I use, is if I am out on a job, and mom or dad need
to contact me. That is it. I feel that most use the cell phones
way too much. I think some probably talk on it even in their sleep.
I only have magic jack for a home phone, which means if the power goes
out , I do not have a phone, so need the cell just in case of emergency
for power outages.

My son has a medical condition so I need to have a phone on me when out, just in case something happens to him. I have a pay as you go cell phone, a cheap one lol..When I get home from running errands or out with friend the phone gets shut off and put away...I never use it otherwise. I find cell phones so annoying! If I can't be reached at home by others oh well, they can leave a message on my home answering machine.

I have friends that pay atleast $100 amonth for their plans because they "HAVE" to be able to have the latest gadgets, apps, etc......then gripe about how they can't afford such and such.....it's ridiculous.......I refuse to spend my hard earned money on stuff that isn't a necessity. My phone is great and so affordable...plus I have alot more coverage than I did with my previous NexTel phone....that used to cost $50 a month with LESS of the features my Virgin Mobile has.

The only reason I have it is for emergencies while I'm on the road & if my son or my mom need to get ahold of me. It's thru US Cellular & I pay $34/month for 300 minutes (I use no more than 100 min./month but that's the least amount they had to offer) - no web access or texting. I can receive texts but can't send them & altho I can take pics w/it, there's no way for me to transfer them to my computer, etc.
I take it with while on the road but never talk & drive at the same time as I see so many others doing. I have a hearing loss so phones aren't my favorite thing to begin with & I find the ringing of a phone more of an annoyance than anything. Especially when it comes to telemarketers & the harassing political crap calls. :(
My contract is up in Aug. but I won't be signing another one & will be looking into other, cheaper/better options which I know are out there. I'm going to look into the Virgin Mobile Kelly has & also, SmartTalk which is thru Walmart.

my DH said he wouldn't go back to work after the shooting at walmart with out a phone so he could contact me in cases like that or if he forgot to take something to work with him and i have to take it to him
sooooooooooo we got him a phone too
i use my phone as my camera now cuz i broke my digital and i have a cord with it to put pics on the computer that i have not learned to do yet or i can use bluetooth at the kiosk to get the pics off my phone and print them out
so my cell phone is a part of every day life for me

I know around my area that the loved ones with family members overseas carry and answer their cell phones 24/7 because you never know when they will be able to call again. I do not mind someone being on their cell phone while they are in a store BUT it does drive me batty to see people using the Bluetooth things in the stores. You never know if they are on the phone OR talking to you. LOL!! Texting & driving is another no no with me because of the distraction it causes the driver. Then again, I do not like driving by law enforcement officers and seeing them using their laptops as they are driving down the road. Yes, I know it is for work reasons BUT that is not safe either.......
