I used to pay 85/week for one child and the 2nd was 1/2 price. I paid 5/hr for a babysitter. How does anyone afford to go out or work for the kind of money. If you pay 300.00 a week for babysitting you must make double to make it worth it.

During the summer time....I have to pay whether our dd is there or not....so then we have to pay for the $200 PLUS whatever cost of the camp she wants to go to....and this year, she's decided she's doing one week of girlscout camp at $275 plus two weeks of horse camp at $250 a week......I realize it's expensive....but since we both have to work full time...I want her to have some other experiences outside of daycare kwim??????

I usually charge $5 and hour and $1 extra for each extra child and I know my prices are low for this area. But I have 10 years experience in child care, CPR/first aid training and bring activities. (art, tunnel, shaving cream- you get the idea) And have passed fingerprinting so no criminal background.

Depending on how many kids and ages. As a mom, I would expect to pay a teen babysitter $5 hour for 1 schoolage child and $7 to $10 per hour for more than 1 schoolage child or infant/toddler.

and she's no dumbie! She knows what Walmart charges (her shopping store) and I charge about 40 - 50% less than WM for my goods. She usually goes for the stockpile stuff at a rate of nearly $14ph and her BF luvs it! I even buy stuff "cheap" that only SHE likes just to let her have when she babysits. It helps her out an us as well. :)
