Overall its been good. At first, it had an echo and lots of static. Someone on here told me you have to plug it into the 2nd port on your computer. Once we did that, its been great, no problems whatsoever.

We have ours on all day and the computer screen does go black. The computer is still on. I'm not sure if this is the sleep mode you mean.
Our computer is in the bedroom and so we shut it completely down at night so we don't hear the hum. Then we obviously don't have phone service. We rely on cell phones for emergencies.
My laptop, though, shuts down completely after a few minutes of inactivity but that might be something different.

We had the problem of cutting out but someone on here suggested we use the 2nd usb port and it really did work. Now we don't have any problems with it.

o We leave the computer on and night and just shut off the monitor, as the monitor is what burns up the electric. I live in a big city no problems with receiving calls or hearing people, no echo's..

due to you may have the volume of the conversation too high. Mine did have the echo until I adjusted the volume.
I don`t mean the ring volume though. Want to make that clear. I did have a problem at first with the cutting
in & out, but just changed to another usb port. Works fine now. Also , depends highly on how good of an internet
service you have, and the speed, as well. I think it gives all the info of the speed, etc, before you even consider
buying it.
I am very happy with mine. Hope this helps .?

You can call US and Canada through your computer and you can get a free phone number which is one up on skype. It works and sounds fine. Thing it was google voice you had to download.
