and I have to say... I'm not looking forward to this at all! Why is it that you ask doctors for the worst case scenario and they don't tell you until the surgery is almost there! UGH!

So I have this Dermoid that needs to be removed. The doctor said this is no small dermoid cyst... it's about the size of a softball, mind you last time they told me the size of a dermoid cyst, it was MUCH bigger! So they can only guess.

So hubby asks if this is normal... apparently in a years time, she will only see about 4 of them. So its NOT!!! I'm in the 10% that actually got a second one.

So.... they go over the procedure. They put a camera in the belly button and make 4 incisions for the robot that does the surgery. Then they try and pull the dermoid out... she said if they can't get it out of the incisions they make, because you see this one they THINK is oblong shaped, if it's oval it might not come out easily, then they will make a larger incision, like they would for a C-section! A C-Section Really???? And this is the first time they thought to mention this? Oh... and what could be only 4-10 days of recovery with no stay in the hospital is at least 7 days off of work... but if they have to do the C-section cut -- it will be 4-6 weeks and a couple day stay in the hospital!

Then... to make matters worse, I woke up with what looks like swollen lymph nodes under my arm... the doctor doesn't want to cancel this surgery, but said if I wake up with it larger the day of the surgery, we are going to have to cancel the surgery, because I will have bigger problems to deal with. OMG!!!!!

All this at the same time Mom is going through Chemo treatments for her Breast Cancer... I was trying to save some vacation time to help Mom out when she needed me! I can't help her out and be home here using all my vacation time and long term disability (which thank god I have! not that it's really enough to pay all the bills because it's a fraction of my salary -- and doesn't include any additional pay which I need to survive)

and the more that we find out... the more doctors referrals I've been given too! They found I have protein in my urine... which is not good I might have blood pressure problems or heart problems or kidney problems. They sent me a referral for a dermatologist for some moles that really should be looked at... blah blah blah..... This sucks....

I'm stressing out big time... Can you tell?

Oh and did I mention I have a brother, sister-in-law, a neice and a couple of nephews in Japan?

I am so sorry you are going through so much, I will be praying for you and your whole family. I really hope that the surgery goes smooth and you don't have to have the bigger cut (C-section). I wish there was more I could for you girlie. Just know I'm praying. Also have you heard from your family in Japan? I will be praying they are okay too. Hugs,Rebekka
