If you or someone in your home has a health/medical issue that could be adversely affected by the electricity being shut off, a letter from your dr. stating that fact will delay the shut off. The elect. co. has to abide by that & not shut off the elect. Hopefully, the same applies in your state.
Otherwise, contact your local Human Services Dept. to request emergency energy assistance, explaining the shut off notice you received. If they can't help, try contacting your local Catholic Charities association if you have one. They can usually help w/up to half of what your bill is.
