My stress level is running over. Had to fly to daughter's today, received a call that the police were on their way. Dumb husband of hers kicked her & then called the police saying that she hit him with a baseball bat. What a shame she didn't. Luckily they knew her dad so they believed her story but they forced the issue of her leaving the house for her own safety. Wouldn't let her take anything except for a couple changes of clothes. He took all their money, so she has no money & I hadn't bought any groceries so here I go with an extra 3 people in the house & not much in groceries. I know it's the best place for her but what a load of bull, she just used $250 of her child support to buy groceries & they made her leave them there for him. I don't know what we are going to do yet, just take it a day at a time, but I don't get paid until the 25, so hopefully we can stretch what I have in the house. I'm calling Sherrif's office tomorrow, to see if we can go get some more clothes & some of the food for these kids since he seems to think all the money is his. Thank heaven's we were smart enough to put her new car in her dad's name or they would have made her leave it there also. It's a load of bull when a woman with kids has to leave home without any of the necessities that are needed for them to make it. Man I'd so like to knock his a-- out. New rule to live by, One day at a time LOL! Have to laugh or I'm going to have a stress induced heart attack, that's how stressed out I am.

Gavyn the 7 yr old said MeMe I thought dad was going to kill my mom & she was going to have to go to jail. This was when he saw the cop arrive. He was scared to death & then they wouldn't even let me go to the house & get the kids. They made us park along the road & wait until he decided I could go get them. They were scared to death. All we can think of is what if they had believed him & had took her to jail, what would they have done with these kids???? They couldn't make either one of them leave, but he absolutely told them he wasn't going anywhere & that was her problem. So they came to us & asked us to help them pressure Jaime into leaving & taking the kids for their safety. Which I was more than happy to do, I just didn't think they'd make her go without anything. She forgot their pj's which we managed to get by with tonight. They are sleeping in my tshirts which they thought was so funny. I know we will get by, I'm not so worried about this, I have a freezer full, just nothing like breakfast foods & things like that, since no one is here, we don't buy this type of stuff, but I can make things work. I'm just stressed & mad as he--, that he's such a jerk. This has been going on for awhile & he had become very abusive vocally, I was concerned it was going to end up this way. I had to laugh, he wouldn't even come out of his dad's garage when he saw us pull up. To bad, it would have been worth the fine to knock him on his a-- & I'd probably have done it LOL! I'm wondering if the reason that they wouldn't let her take anything was just to get her & the kids out of there for safety. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. Thanks for your prayers, we are definitely going to need them, especially if I get my hands on him LOL

That's bad enough and I also will keep her in my prayers that it gets resolved safely and fairly. So glad she is safe with you!
If the sheriff won't allow her back in for food, please do contact health and human services. She is likely eligible for emergency food stamps (they will also give them to her within so many days), so do that tomorrow.
Ask them for a list of food pantries in your area. They know your local resources and can help until she gets back on her feet so she does not have to go back to him.

I'm glad to hear the authorities wouldn't let your daughter & the kids stay at the house. Domestic abuse situations are very tricky & can quickly become volatile so the authorities were doing their best to protect everyone from the perp. Had they allowed your daughter & the kids to stay at the house & taken the husband off to jail, he likely would've sat festering w/anger in a cell all night & been released on bond the next morning. Then whoever was at the house would've been sitting ducks. It's happened SO many times in other domestic voilence situations so I'm sure the officers didn't want to risk it happening in your daughter's situation. It's a relief to know there's more & more awareness about domestic abuse, better training for the authorities & that more/better measures are being taken to ensure the safety of the victim &/or potential victims.
For all the officers knew, your daughter's husband could've had a gun or knife stashed somewhere & snapped at any moment, shooting/stabbing at someone or taking your daughter or one of the kids hostage, so they just wanted to try to keep things calm & get everyone away from the perp as soon as possible. Likely the reason for not allowing anyone to retrieve any food or more belongings. I would say they handled the situation very, very well & am so thankful your daughter & her kids were able to get out of there unhurt.
Abusers are nothing but big bullies who want to control others but they can also be very dangerous.
I will keep you all in my prayers for safety! :)

He punched something yesterday & is now trying to say that she broke his arm with a baseball bat. Law won't let her get anything unless they are present & then only a few clothes. Won't even let us have Greydyn's bed. Waiting to hear from Prosecuting Attorney as we figure he has pressed charges for this crap. They are saying that everything in the house is now his because she left on her own accord. That is so wrong, they pressured us into taking her home with us. She went back last night to get some pajamas for the kids & he called the cops & told them that she was breaking into the house & he was afraid for his life. This a hole weighs in at 250 or more & wrestles 2000lb. cows for a living but he's afraid for his life. I told her to let the ahole have it all except for personal things like clothes. This is just not worth it. If he's this low, then I'm just glad she's out of it. What a mess.

& like the other ladies said, she needs to get a lawyer asap & get a "freeze" on everything so he can't hide/sell anything.
She did NOT leave of her own accord; she was forced to leave due to his abuse & the coercion of the authorities, for the safety of her kids & herself.
Contacting a Domestic Abuse association or hotline is something she also needs to do asap as they're familiar w/those kinds of situations & the law.
The main thing is she got out of there & thank God too, w/the kids.
Praying everything works out for the best for her & the kids.

This cop says this is bull crap, they cannot keep her out of her own home. He contacted the lovely hubby, & he agreed she could come get clothes & personal belongings but the bed & such had to stay. What an arse to keep a 3 yr. old's bed. Lawyer told her to file a protection order against him by tomorrow. We have to come up with $150 to file & $500 for lawyer, but we will somehow. It will be interesting to see what he allows her to get today. She took one of her childhood friends with her, a guy, he's married but he is one big man, I felt much better about this. Took his truck so hopefully they can get as much as possible before cop changes his mind. But this cop seems to be a really nice guy, he was not at all happy about the deputy telling her that she could not even be at the neighbors. So cross your fingers & at least hope she gets the kids clothes & toys.
