Burrell’s Ryan Yates voted U.S. Army Coach of the Year
Army Coach of the Year honors Pennsylvania’s best high school wrestling coach
HARRISBURG, PA – The U.S. Army Harrisburg Recruiting Battalion announces that Burrell High School’s Ryan Yates is the U.S. Army Coach of the Year for Pennsylvania. Yates guided Burrell to a state championship at the 2011 PIAA Wrestling Championships in Class AA, scoring 85 total points with one state champion, three third-place finishes, and a fourth-place finish. As the U.S. Army Coach of the Year, “The Sports Flash” (TSF) Radio Network will make a $500 donation to the Burrell High School athletic department.
Fans from across the state voted for the U.S. Army Coach of the Year. TSF Radio Network recorded 14,680 votes during the voting with Yates receiving 3,633 votes to edge Greater Latrobe’s Marc Billett (3,503). Canon-McMillan’s Chris Mary finished third in the voting with 2,464 votes.
The 2010 Army Coach of the Year campaign is part of the U.S. Army Harrisburg Recruiting Battalion’s 2010 Army STRONG Tour, which includes the Army Iron Man campaign, the Army STRONG Wrestler of the Year, and the Army Rivalry Tour.

I just wanted to thank you ladies (and some of your wonderful hubbys) for all the votes and all the kind words and support you gave to Ryan (and ME!!!) during these past 2 weeks.... It was a very LONG 2 weeks and you all helped keep the spirits high and made it more fun than nerve-racking!!!
