I see several people on the Refund Board who type all of their messages in caps. I'm not talking about the subject line or emphasis in a message, I'm talking about the whole message.
I always thought that doing this was considered inappropriate and rude. I do know it is hard to read.
I still see this non-cap ruling mentioned on the RC message board and other boards.
Has this courtesy rule changed? 1|1|There are a few who type like that due to vision problems....but I think most do it to draw attention to their post in the subject line. I do type the subject line and items that I want to put emphasis on in caps, just not the whole message.
I think this is funny. Myself, I have a hard time typing a whole page in caps. I'm so used to typing in upper and lower case. When I was working, that was the way we office people always had to type - upper and lower case.
I do find the entire message in caps hard to read. Kinda of harsh to the eyes for me.

Of course there was no relationship between your not posting anymore and the smoking. I guessed the smoking issue contributed to your over reaction to the caps' comments. Anybody who really intends to leave a board just stops posting and doesn't have to announce their departure.
