the "no news is good news" adage is certainly correct! also, the military has "communications black outs" when tragedies like this occur. if that is the case here it does NOT mean that anyone on that ship was injured. it just means that the military needs to get things sorted out before communication lines are open.
prayers certainly going out for your family, though, to always keep your service member safe

My brother is in Saipan and we were on the phone during the countdown to the tsunami hitting (scariest 10 minutes of my life). Anywho, by the grace of God all the Mariana's Islands were spared. No big waves at all.. Just wanted to let you know.
Forgot to add, that he said the ships went out to sea to ride out the storm, but he knew they were ok, and were returning to the islands tomorrow (probably no cell service until they get back).
