My bil had another CT/PET scan on Mon. & got the results of them back today.
The larger tumor in his esophagus has shrunk to the size of a pea & even one of the 2 tumors on his liver has shrunk!! I don't know about the other tumors yet as I got the news from my mom so will know more when I talk to my sister. But is is AWESOME news!!! I guess the oncologist is very happy w/how things are going as it's better than he had expected, & my bil has now gained back 29 of the 30 lbs. he had lost before the diagnosis! W/all the protein packed pureed p-nut butter smoothies (at 1300 calories a pop) my sister's been making him, it's no wonder. LOL
I guess after they left the hospital today, my bil wanted to go to McDonald's & ordered a large fries & cheeseburger. LOL He's been able to eat more normal, solid foods the last few wks. so I bet it's been tasting delicious after many months of only soft & then pureed foods (as the tumor grew).
Thanks for all the prayers & good thoughts but please keep them coming! :)

I talked to my sister for a few minutes last night before the battery in her cordless phone went dead (no doubt from calling everyone w/the good news! LOL) & I was able to find out this much: The larger of the 2 tumors in his esophagus had been about the size of a fist !!! & thankfully w/the chemo, it has shrunk it down to the size of a pea. :)
She'll be coming here later this morning so I will find out more about the other tumors then..... But since things are going much better than the oncologist expected, he's given my bil a month off from the chemo & also removed the feeding tube. After this month off, my bil will resume chemo for 4 wks. w/2 wks. off, 4 wks. of chemo w/2 wks. off & then more scans again. I guess when the dr. left the room for a few minutes after giving them the good news, my bil did a little happy dance! ROFL!! He's on the quiet side so I got a pretty good chuckle hearing about that little dance. LOLOL
