One of my bp meds are being changed from Enalapril to Bystolic. The Enalapril has been causing me to have a dry, hacking cough for about 10 min. everytime I lay down. I understand the Bystolic won't do that but is also supposed to slow my heart rate down some so that I will no longer have the occasional heart racing I've been getting.
But.... I just looked up Bystolic & I'm a little nervous about its side-effects & the fact that I also take Diltiazem.
My dr. is on vacation til the 21st so I do plan on grilling the pharmacist when I pick up the new prescription but I was hoping someone might be able to offer some insight beforehand. I HATE starting/switching meds I'm not familiar with.
Would appreciate some input/reassurance. :)
I'm also scheduled for an Exercise Echocardiogram on the 24th & was instructed not to take the Bystolic the morning of the test. Needless to say, I'm nervous about that test as well. :(
