I actually signed her up for Girl Scouts to be a Daisy back in September when they had signups....but they didn't have enough troop leaders (I offered to be an assistant, but couldn't take on the lead.....but nobody else would step up) so consequently my dd and a bunch of other little girls paid but never got to be in a troop...whatever...

Anyway, I discovered this and she is super excited to go...anyone have any experience on girl scout daycamp? I'm so excited for her! 1|1|when i was younger and in the brownies/girlscouts we did day camp and some spent the nite but NOT ME (M)|lydzkydz|wyldkydz@embarqmail.com|21:57:45|02/28/2011|

we went to a place called camp dickenson in a county next to us
we used to have a blast
take nature walks swim did camp fires at nite
one nite a skink decided to visit one of the tents and scared every one away
they all had to move in to the old house that night and stay away from the tents
good thing it was the last nite
i think she will have a good time

my sons go to day church camp and really enjoy it

This October I became a leader. My daughter wanted to be a brownie and there were no troops available so I started my own. I have a co-leader and 10 girls including my 8 yr old and my 5 year old.there were no daisy troops with openings so I do daisy stuff with my 5 yr old while my second year brownies do their stuff..I am not familiar with the day camp yet but I am sure she will have a blast..we have been doing so many new things lately I'm sure camp is coming soon.....

suffolk county girl scouts was the best time i had as a kid. made life long friends and travel a lot with them. went to all the expo 's in canada in the 60's . they sent me to england for a month. plus i helped take a group of cadettes cross country from long island ny to ten sleep wy. by bus camping all the way. i never turn down a scout if they are wearing a piece of uniform on and ask me to buy cookies. many a girl guide has stayed at my house too. wish i was in better shape so i could help them more. melody
