She did really really well. Not many side effects.. really just feels like she's hot, even though her body temp isn't! So I'm having a sleepover in her room tonight because her Fiance is really sick and can't be here and I really want to keep an eye on her. Her Fiance has been staying with her, but he's running a fever.. just got too run down from the stress and running around.. I'm sure he'll be fine tomorrow. Hubby is watching the kids while I stay in her room on a cot.

She had a huge appetite today. They were really pleased. She ate Cheez-it's and drank Vitamin Water while getting the Chemo. When it was over, she ate her entire hospital provided dinner and a Ensure Drink on top of it! Then she was still hungry.... wanted a Bloomin Onion from Outback of all things... So I picked her up a Bloomin Onion and a Steak Dinner -- she downed almost all of the Bloomin Onion, the entire steak and baked potato and most of the salad! More food than she's eaten in weeks! She even ate dessert before going to bed!

Her Fiance also bought her some large t-shirts and baggy pants to wear in the hospital so she doesn't have to wear the uncomfortable gown.

We have been very lucky today.... another lady in the room next door had her first chemo today and it didn't do well. She had a code blue in the room and they have to revive her and send her to ICU. Her poor daughter was right there with her -- the daughter was probably my age. Felt really bad for both of them. Goes to show you that you can't take this stuff lightly! This is some serious stuff.

I'm not getting much done today... but I am sorting my coupons and I finally found time to trim my kids boxtops and split them up for each of their classes! I would go nuts here in the hospital if I didn't have anything to do Spending time with Mom is nice... we've been laughing alot. She was very sweet to tell the nurse that she didn't need medicine to make her happy, because her daughter makes her laugh all the time. I know this means she really needed me here this last week and a half or two!

Thanks for everyones prayers. Mom may go home in a few days, then she'll do the Chemo outpatient for a while.

Laurie
