If you do, I have made these from craft foam, just cutting out big shapes then punching holes with a hole punch.

For the boys, I printed coloring book pages from pbskids.org of characters like Caillou and Arthur... and let the boys color and add stickers. We then used clear packaging tape to make them into placemats. It was much cheaper than buying them. If Z has something he likes, you could print and as someone suggested gluing them to craft foam sheets and punching the holes. Add colorful shoelaces from walmart/target and you have some lacing cards!
