Have done 2 rounds of the new 5 day in a row chemo. Getting tired the second week, and still having throat problems, but otherwise not too bad. Am hoping to get my throat back to normal some day! I have acid reflux and the last chemo made it really bad, I had a sore throat from November til January, plus an earche. Now they are intermittent, but I lost my voice and am starting to get it back. Visiting the ENT regularly and on a whole slew of new drugs, he says it is getting better, just can't quite heal coz the chemo keeps knocking out my immunity. After each chemo, I lose my voice again and the throat hurts again off and on for a week or so.
Next round is in one week. Have three more rounds of this before the next scan.
Visited another dr. for second opinion, he wants to do exploratory surgery to see what they can remove. Not sure I want to go that route, talked to my dr. and he brought in the surgeon who said I wasn't really a good candidate, what I have is all very tiny, under 1 cm each, and spread out. It would be hard to find and almost not worth it, since the chemo is shrinking it steadily. They don't see the point, but told me it was up to me. I go back in 2 weeks to see the new dr. and decide.
