I was shocked and he was too that I had gained 19lbs in a month I have never gained that much in my life the Dr is double checking me in 2 weeks to see if I may be carrying twins!! 2|1|I'll tell ya something about having twins....it's really not that hard! Honestly. I think if I were in your shoes I would be making myself nuts worrying about it, so be kind to yourself and just don't do that!  <P>If you do find out for sure that it will be two babies, then I promise I will pipe in with my best cheerful cheerleading.  :0)  Hang in there Gwen!  Sometimes these surprise babies wind up being exactly what we didn't know we most needed!  Things will be okay!<P>Is your Dh acting any better? I also gained 19 lb. in 1 month so that's when they began checking closer. Nothing was found until my kidneys stopped working, so rushed to doctor for checkup, they did an x-ray to make sure nothing major was going on & there were all 3 of them, 2 riding piggy back & 1 was laying on my kidney's therefore stopping them. They knew where they were by then, so they checked heartbeats & could only find 1 still, it was where they were riding piggyback. So they did more tests & realized that the one laying on my kidney was gone. It took almost another month before they ever got 2 heartbeats even though they knew both were alive, they just persisited in riding piggyback. They were born March 8 & it took until March 15 before the third was expelled. They didn't want to do anything about it because they knew it would take care of itself & they didn't want to do any surgery that didn't have to be done just after giving birth to twins. Also everyone is right, twins are not that hard if you are organized & ready. We lived with an alarm clock since they were on a 3 hour schedule. I ran a tight ship with having 3 other small ones, everything had a time & we stuck with it & everything had a place where you put it back when you were done. It's the only way to handle it & not go crazy. Also you have to remember to take special time just for yourself. I was huge, gained 50 lbs with this pregnancy.  Dr. said I was having a big baby.  After girl #1 arrived, Dr. shouted "Surprise", you have another baby girl only she was breech, reason why Dr. never detected heartbeat!  I was shocked to say the least!  Hubby went out following day to buy double of everything - cribs, car-seats, clothes, everything!!  However, tragedy came a year later when I was 8 mos. pregnant with girl #3, when I found my oldest twin strangled by curtain cord.  I had 2 more girls later on.  However, taking care of twins and being first time Mom at this, I was up every 45 minutes every night between feedings, it was hard.  I did not get any help from my Mom and MIL.  Hubby did what he could despite running a family business days, nights & weekends.  I found out later on that twins run in Hubby's family.  Best of luck with your pregnancy Gwen, twins or not!!
