Haven't tackled the shoveling yet....it was still blowing around this afternoon. Bad thing is temps will only be in the teens or below the next few days...so shoveling is gonna be one cold job

Lost power 3 times yesterday but after 3 or 4 hours each time being off it came back on. We have about 2 or 3 in. of ice with heavy snow falling now. My road is drifted shut but that's ok, since all roads in this area is an emergency 3, only emergency vehicles allowed. So guess I'll be doing nothing for a couple days. Everyone stay warm & safe.

Cleared a big mess yesterday morning but woke up to a repeat this morning, only the drift outside my living room window has doubled in size & just about completely buried my picnic table.
Schools are closed all over here & surrounding areas this morning cuz of the blowing & drifting on top of the snow but I feel for those farther south as they got about 2 ft. w/in the last couple days & their drifts have been reaching 15 ft.
Someone better plug that groundhog's hole or be at the ready to thump him on the head if he peeks his head out cuz if we have 6 more wks. of this stuff I'm going to go stir crazy! LOL
Fact of life: After Monday and Tuesday..even the CALENDAR says...

10|4|The drift on the south side of our house is half covering the garage windows, and the garage is set on a slab 18 inches thick....so that drift must be about 5 or 5 1/2 ft tall...Lance and I have been shoveling...3-4 feet of snow from in front of the door, down the porch steps (which all but disappeared), and about 6 feet down the walk to our driveway....there is a 5 ft drift in front of the garage door, we cant even get the mower/plow or the snowblower out. They would probably make for some good snowboarding. Fortunately, I don't have to worry about in back except to make sure the gas pipe vents are clear but the drifts always tend to form at least few feet away from the house back there so it's never a problem.
It's the front that's the killer. Was thinking now would be a good time to have a blade I could attach to the back of my van, so I could open my garage door (hopefully!) & just back all the way down the driveway to clear the worst of it. LOL

12|6|Wow, I always say how much I miss the snow, but I dont miss it like ya'll are gettin it. I remember way, way back when (lol) when we had first moved to KS there had been a blizzard, tho we had seen snow in Germany it had been nothing compared that storm.
