i have been getting emails about my one charge card i have now to keep me up to date on balance and so on
so today when i get home my balance was 50.00 more then yesterday
so i went to check
and the gas station double charged me for 25.00 worth of gas
2 transactions came up with same number same day and all
and i only went to that gas station once to get gas
and the lady at the register was the one that run my card thru
so now i am on the phone with capital one trying to get the 2nd charge off
i don't need to pay more for something i didn't get ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

It would be the cc company's fault or a faulty connection setting on the cc machine. The cashier has nothing to do with assigning transaction numbers. I'm glad you got it fixed though. Sorry you had this happen.

6|1|lydia, did this just happen with a fri 1/28 purchase? i ask, cuz our shell gas station did the exact same thing to us, i found it this morning. it was dated for 1/31, but transaction actually took place fri 1/28 when hubby got $45 gas. it takes a couple days for the transactions to show on our credit card, & today two $45 charges for shell gas were taken out. instead of doing a dispute, they told me to call the gas station and get a refund, it would be quicker. anyway, weird that this happened to you and to me, both being shell gas station.|turdra|tammyjoblake@hotmail.com|18:21:21|02/01/2011|

If you give your CC info on-line, for a FREE Trial of something, you will end up being charged later on, usually after you have forgotten all about it! I just had to phone today about ancestry.com doing that to me, and last month it was several magazines!!! You really have to be vigilant and CANCEL within a certain number of days.
