first thing to do is call your school, they should be haelping you out with all the info you need. Check with your PTA most PTA's have many scholarships they give out. Our school gives out over 25,000 to our kids.
Second thing call the college your child is going to, many college have a finacial aid office to help you, they can even give your child a scolarship Mine got 1,000 already from the college. not much but everything adds up
Third thing go to www.pin.ed.gov and get yourself a pin to get finacial aid
next go to wwwfafsa.gov and file for aid, you need toahve your 2010 taxes done already or if you are self employeed you can use 2009 taxes and update after taxes are completed OR you can go to Ohiocolleggoalsunday.org which is on Feb 13th 2011 from 1-4 at many location wheree they will help you fill out y9our fafsa forms form finacial aid. all applicationd are due by feb 15th.
Our school had a finacial aid officer from a local college come in have a discussion about what to do.
Remember your ideas for aid include scholarships (try scholarships.com) it list national scolarships available, grants, also employment at the school if available again call the school,
also check your local little paper that are out there. I find a scholar ship from our town in a little town newspaper.

They had colleges come in and have a free application night, the finacial aid officer came in, and they send home each child applicaiotns for our PTA scholar ships.
