I had rainchecks for both the tp and paper towels I bought two packs of each I also had
1 5/25
2 2/ tp when you buy the towels
2 1/1 paper towels
$16 in ecb's
so my total should have been $13 plus tax and get back $10 in ecb's
but she rang them up at 13.99 each took off the $27 dolars and gave me $20 in ecb's
This wasn't at my local store and about a half hr from home I was running a bit late for something I needed to do at home so I didn't go over it till I got home Should I go back? Considering the travel time and how it would require me to get someone to take me there anyones thoughts?

So you bought TWO of EACH... so your total should have been $40 pre coupons and ECB's? And you should have gotten $10 ECB back total....right?
So pay $13 and tax and get back $10?
Instead you paid 13.99x4=55.96 - 27(coupons and ECB)=28.96 but you got $20 ECB????
So, you should have been out $3+ Tax (net) and instead are out 8.96+tax (net). Granted you definitely got overcharged in the tax department, but if it would take you more than a gallon of gas each way to get back to the store in general you'd be losing money to go fix it....since gas is over $3/gallon.
If you got the $20 ECB instead of only $10 ECB, it takes some of the sting off. You end up paying almost $1 extra in tax, so I guess you're out about $7 (8.96 + $1 tax - $3= 6.96). For me an extra trip and then the pain of trying to get someone to UNDERSTAND the math...wouldn't be worth it...plus you may not be able to get anyone to catch on, then you're out the gas and time for nothing. If you'd had time and caught the error on the spot, it might have been easier for someone to understand (visuals help---LOL).
Now IF you were supposed to pay $3+Tax and actually get $20 ECB back.....THEN you're looking at an almost $17 issue and I'd probably make a trip. But my van would eat more gas than the $7 would be worth---and I'd be out some ibuprofen for the inevitable headache of talking math to a cashier. LOL

$40 - 27 = 13 (+ tax) and get 10 ecb's but paid 55.96 - 27 = 28.96 (+ tax) and got 20 ecb's soooo I look at it this way I should have paid 3 + tax and what I paid was 8.96 + tax so the difference is 5.96 so I am thinking I won't be going back Part of the reason is that it wasn't an easy task to get the items to begin with lol as you know how our cvs is lol this store is much bigger and has a stockroom so they had the items in back which the girl was real nice in getting for me and she let me use 2 of the 2/ tp wyb the paper towels PLUS 1/1 towels so I guess I will let it go now I just wish they had had the listerine I have a raincheck for but hey it's only a bit shy of a month I guess that is ok considering it's our cvs we are talking about lol
