I was referred to a surgeon yesterday to have a small cyst removed from my thigh. She took one look at it and said it's cancer and needs to come out immediately so she scheduled it to be removed at the hospital on Thursday. I'm still in shock because my PCP said it was just a cyst and nothing to worry about! I used to go tanning and now I could just kick myself!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know exactly how you feel.. it's like a slap in the face and you didn't see it coming... just keep strong and know you can get thru this.. It's time to kick in the survival mode and you have lots of people who will pray for your strength!!!
Many years ago I went to the dr cuz I was having pains in my lower back that just kept getting increasingly worse.. It never even hit me that it would be something serious, just thought maybe I had bowel blockage or hemorrhoids or something. When the dr called me into his office and told me it was colon cancer, I was totally in shock.. I never saw it coming.. He then asked me how many kids I had.. That's when I realized that I HAD to beat this cuz I didn't want to leave my kids behind.. I beat the odds because of the "survival mode" and SO CAN YOU!! HANG IN THERE!

don't beat yourself up too much about the tanning. i'm a natural red head and have NEVER used them because they would just cook me to a crisp but my opinion on them is they're not good and i know they are reported as having caused cancer but TONS of people do go to them and never have a minute's trouble. you can't undo that you've gone so we'll all just focus on your upcoming procedure and send out the prayers and happy thoughts to make it a success. 5|1|Thanks for all the prayers and good wishes...means alot.|suzhappy|suzhappy@yahoo.com|11:53:33|01/19/2011|

had each spot cut out each time her nose is a little misshapen but she is OK
she had a huge cyst cut out of her arm and thank goodness it wasn't cancerous

my hubbys aunt is fighting a rare form of breast cancer and is doing great with everything she has and is going thru
she never let it get her down

now we wait and see what type of cancer it is and if it has spread. The dr. took a pretty good size chunk out of my thigh and stitched up three layers of skin. Took about an hour and didn't hurt much then but the pain has set in tonight. Thank goodness for Percocet!! Thanks again for all the prayers :)

I had Malignant Squamus Cell Carcinoma. The surgeon's office called to let me know. She took a LARGE chunk out of my thigh and I'm going to have a beauty of a scar there once the stitches come out. The good news is that she got it all. The bad news is squamus cell carcinoma has a tendency to recur at the same site so my leg will have to be watched for the rest of my life I guess.
