& the exp. date was 1997. Not sure how that snuck in here after just moving/packing & sorting thru everything 3 yrs. ago, but out to the trash it went. LOL
Here's an FYI tip - If you have canned fruit, especially pineapple, you may want to make sure it gets used or tossed w/in a year of purchase as the fruit cans tend to "spring a leak" after a certain amount of time. And what I found out the hard way is that the sugary syrup content is a major sticky mess to have to clean up. Ick!

I bought a little plastic bottle of store brand vinegar to dye easter eggs with. One day I woke up and noticed a funky smell comng from the kitchen and was looking all over for what it could be. I didn't even think of the pantry because I just keep boxed and canned food in there. My nose lead me over there and it was such a mess. I took everything out and soaked up as much as I could with paper towels. Then I poured a box of baking powder all over the shelf and let it sit overnight. When I brushed it all off the next day the smell was thankfully gone. Luckily it was on the bottom shelf where I keep canned food so I was able to wash them off but from then on I only buy vinegar in a glass bottle. Lesson learned, lol.
