My nephew (8yrs old) was taken to the hospital yesterday. blood glucose was off the charts. they actually considered air lifitng him to the major hospital it was so high. he really showed no signs other than an odor to his breath and excessively thirsty. they think he is diabetic and will need to be on insulin. we have no family history of juvinile diabetis so not sure where it is coming from. just a grandmother who had diabetes when she hit her 80s. the hospital is still running tests and will know more over the next few days. they are keeping him in the hospital until the tests come back and they make sure he is stable.
