My sister said yesterday that my bil ate a whole can of Chef Boyardee spaghetti & meatballs Fri. w/out her having to puree it! Except for some smashed scrambled eggs a couple wks. ago, that's the 1st SOLID, WHOLE food he's been able to eat normally in a few months!
His stomach isn't used to non-pureed food again yet so I guess he kind of overdid it & didn't feel too good for a little while afterwards, but I imagine it had to have tasted delicious after having everything soupy & diluted w/water, milk, broth, etc. LOL It might seem silly or trivial but we were all very, very happy to hear he could eat that as it means the chemo must be working to shrink the tumors in his esophagus! :)
He just had his 4th chemo treatment Weds. & has a 2-wk. break in which they'll be doing another scan to check on the tumors before starting another 4-5 wk. course of chemo. The focus was mainly on the ones in his esophagus but we're hoping & praying the scan will show that ALL the tumors (the 2 in his esophagus, 2 on his liver, 1 in his back & 1 on his ribs) are shrinking & that there are no more new ones.
Please keep those prayers going for him as they seem to be working. :)
