so you wouldn't think it should need much salt, if any, but I think the broth & peas tend to take away some of the ham's salty flavoring. You can toss in some chunks of raw potato to absorb some of the salt, cook for a little while longer & then remove the potato chunks & save for another meal sans the salt for that one.
Maybe some celery or celery seed will help?
