curtains they were always the same length but my family room here has 1 window that is long and two side by side that are shorter I finally found curatins I like but do I buy them so they hang up from the floor the same distance or so they hang the same length past the sill molding? There is a heatig unit under the windows that are side by side
also I am getting rid of my blinds as they really don't match the color of the walls and will be buying sheers do I get them the same length of the curatin or get them long enough to hang just under the sill?
Thanks for any help 1|1|I would hang them so they are all the same distance from the sills at the top I think....would the bottom hems be even then?|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|14:05:35|12/31/2010|

Thanks for looking, Donna 3|1|You havent bought them yet, then? If not, I would buy curtains long enough to be hung at the same height across the top and have an even hem on the bottom....that way the curtains dont add to the odd sizes of your windows, they can 'frame' them uniformly when open and hide the different sizes when closed :)|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|14:10:27|12/31/2010|

4|1|I have a room with different sized windows|sdoty|sdoty17@hotmail.com|14:33:39|12/31/2010|

I used the same sized curtains, so that all the curtains are hung the same distance from the ceiling, and end the same distance from the floor. To me, the curtains help disguise the fact that the windows are different sizes ... I think if they were hung at different heights it would make the sizes stand out more and look uneven. If you have a heater under one window to deal with, I would hang the curtains at the same height for that window, and then shorten the curtains to clear the obstruction. (The last thing you want is to risk a fire!)

My sheers are always the same length as the curtains. I'm definitely not an expert though! Hth,

Susan

carpenter kinda guy will show up here and put a door in where the tall window is lol lol That way grpceries won't have to be lugged so far in the rain or snow lol and that cobcrete path we had from the sidwalk to the window won't look so stupid lol 7|3|Carter Oosterhaus! He can fix your windows and he is yummy to look at! :D As for the spacing at the top, it wont matter, hang them so they are above the tallest, then line up the other two to hang at the same level (see my reply above and sdoty's reply, we have the same concept) :)|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|14:52:05|12/31/2010|
