Boy, what is next. My King Kullen has Florida Natural OJ on sale this week, however, I noticed it said 59 oz. container. Checked it out at the store and sure enough the container is down from 64 oz. Soon we won't have 1 dozen eggs or a quart of milk. Price stays the same so you think you have a bargain. Check the size of the container. I noticed the 16 oz. cans are now 14. Just had to vent. If the entire packaging hasn't shrunk in size, the quanity of the contents have & the price either stays the same or goes up. :(
Not sure how it's helping the economy when we're getting less for same/higher prices while everyone's income is at a standstill or worse.
The rich are just getting richer & if you were in the middle ground or poor before, I'm fearing it's going to get worse at the rate things have been going.
Gas is predicted to hit the $5/gal. mark, supposedly due to demand, yet I heard not too long before that there is supposed to be NO worries about any fuel shortage because people have been reducing fuel usage by either cutting back on driving, using more fuel-efficient vehicles or using hybrids. So what's up w/that obvious contradiction?!
Something's gotta give pretty soon cuz people aren't going to stand for this much longer.
ETA: Then I find it too coincidental that for 2 yrs. in a row, there's no COLA for people receiving Soc. Security retirement or disability & NOW, the SS tax is being reduced when the SSA has already been struggling financially for years. So who do you think is paying for that? Why isn't the State or Federal tax being reduced instead?
