Getting that nasty snow and wind from the lake effect stuff here (off Lake michigan) and snowed in. Nice big drifts out there but once it gets light out will have a better view of this white mess. Still snowing and blowing. Well..gonna dig in for another day I guess..not going anywhere in this mess. North and west of me earlier this morning on the news heard they called a snow emergency for those counties..bad stuff. Sooo glad I qualified for the free insulation blown in the house this past summer. Now that at least some of us have been able to dig ourselves out, noone wants to venture out anyway cuz bitter cold followed the blizzard. :( There's a Windchill Advisory til noon today & it's currently about minus 10 below zero here w/windchills in the minus 20-30 below zero range. Burrr!! A whole bunch of school are closed or delayed a couple hrs., partly cuz alot of people in the country are still trying to dig themselves out & some of the country roads still aren't cleared.
The other reason for the school closings/delays is that it is way too cold for any of the kids who have to walk to school or stand outside waiting for the bus to pick them up. It's ludicrous but believe it or not, there are some bus drivers that will NOT even stop, much less wait a couple minutes, at a pick-up point if they don't see kids waiting OUTSIDE at the pick-up point. :( Some people have long driveways & of course, the buses never come at the same time & are notably late in winter mos., yet per the school's stupid Bus Rider policy, the kids are expected to be out there ready & waiting when the bus comes. Doesn't matter if the kids have to stand out there for 10-15 min. freezing to death!

EVER end?! lol! We are getting that lake effect stuff here. Heard 11 counties were in snow emergency here. No one going ANY where that is for sure. Not even going to try to find someone to plow till this wind dies off. Ridiculous out there. Drifts waist high and still calling for several more inches during the night tonight. Uggh. i had the 7 yr old grandaughter since friday...and after a couple days...she gets bored and then i get a headache..LOL
