I have had the Verizon Mifi hotspot for the last year (almost) and though its faster than dial up, it tends to loose service a LOT. On top of it my daughter quit using the dial up service on her laptop and is now usin the mifi (it can do up to 5 devices at once) but it really slows it down and now we are coming very close to going over our alloted data usage each month. With DH coming home and gonna be doin online classes there is really no way 3 laptops can run on the mifi at once and stay under our usage. Anyway, Im wondering if anyone has the satelitte internet?? Im curious as to the quality of use, like is there a lot of dropped signals, lost internet connections, degredation of speed with mulitple users? These are the issues Im having now with the Mifi. I live out in the middle of the country with no access to DSL or cable internet so these are basically my only two options. Any input would be great. Thanks!!

decided as soon as we got high speed here in the area we would get rid of it. Hated it! never fail..in the middle of something and would lose connection. Didn't have to have a cloud in the sky. Very frustrating. I was forever calling them on it. My then hubby had to have a good connection to be able to fix hospital stuff from home online and that was NOT the solution with the dropping etc. I think it was 'wild blue' but could be wrong on that as it's been a few years now since we had it. 2|2|Thanks for the info. I've basically been told there will never be DSL where I currently live and am tryin to figure out the best option for us. |jen_ron|jenayn@yahoo.com|14:24:47|12/13/2010|

With the satelite internet its like 12gb of usage for 69.95 and with Verizon its only 5gb of usage for 59.99. We already have a lot of lost connections but Im half way thru my contract. I would hate to get locked into another 2 year contract and the service be just as bad, if not worse. But thank you for sharing your experience!!
