I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE HAS BEEN THROUGH THIS OR HAS ANY IDEAS WHAT TO DO. I WENT TO THE DR SEVERAL WEEKS AGO FOR A CHECKUP AND ALL AND WAS PUT ON SEVERAL DIFFERENT MEDS. WELL BEFORE I EVEN HAD A CHANCE TO START TAKEN ANY OF MY MEDS I WOKE UP THE NEXT MORNING AFTER GOING TO THE DR JUMPING OUT OF BED OUT OF MY SLEEP TO THE BATHROOM WITH SEVERE DIREHHA. I WAS IN BED FOR ABOUT 2 DAYS MY STOMACH WAS UPSET AND THE DIREHHA JUST KEPT GETTING WORSE. I HAD IT FOR ABOUT A WEEK GOING SEVERAL TIMES A DAY EVERYDAY. EVERYTHING I EAT OR DRINK JUST RUNS RIGHT OUT OF ME. (SORRY DONT MEAN TO SOUND GROSS JUST TRYING TO EXPLAIN HOW IT IS.) I HAVE STOMACH CRAMPING AND GURGLING AND OFF TO THE BATHROOM I GO ALL DAY EVERY DAY. MY STOMACH IS BLOATED, I AM VERY GASSY, AND HAVE PAINS IN MY STOMACH.I WENT BACK TO THE DR ABOUT THIS AND THEY DIDNT PUT ME ON ANYTHING THEY JUST DID BLOODWORK AND THEN MADE ME TAKE A STOOL SAMPLE. I GOT MY RESULTS FROM BLOOD THEY SAID FOR NOW TILL THEY DO MY STOMACH SCAN AND GET STOOL RESULTS THEY ARE GOING TO SAY ITS A VIRAL INFECTION. WELL ITS BEEN OVER 2 WEEKS NOW AND I AM STILL HAVING SEVERE DIREHHA, I AM SO DRAINED, SO EXHAUSTED, EVERYTHING I EAT OR DRINK COMES RIGHT BACK OUT. MY LEGS ARE HURTING, MY BACK AND MY ARMS. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO TO GET THIS TO STOP OR GO AWAY. I AM STILL WAITING ON STOOL RESULTS AND FOR THEM TO DO A STOMACH SCAN. I HAVE HAD ALOT OF PROBLEMS WITH MY STOMACH THIS PAST YEAR WITH SEVERE HEARTBURN, ALOT OF BURNING, PAIN IN MY STOMACH AND ALWAYS FEELING NAUSEATED ESPECIALLY WHEN I LAY DOWN. THATS ONE OF THE MEDS MY DR PUT ME ON WAS ZANTAC I THINK THATS WHAT IT WAS CALLED BUT I DIDNT GET A CHANCE TO TAKE IT YET BEFORE ALL THIS STARTED TO HAPPEN. I AM GOING CRAZY I JUST DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO I AM SO MISERABLE. I WISH THEY WOULD FIGURE OUT WHAT IT IS AND FIX THIS. I HAVE HAD A VIRAL INFECTION BEFORE BUT NOT LIKE THIS AND THIS LONG THATS WHAT MAKES ME THINK THEY ARE MISSING SOMETHING. LAST TIME I HAD DIREHHA LIKE THIS WAS WHEN I WOUND UP GETTING MY GALLBLADDER TAKEN OUT. BUT STILL IT DIDNT GO ON LIKE THIS AND THIS LONG. I CALLED MY DR'S OFFICE THIS MORNING WAITING ON THEM TO CALL BACK. ANYONE HAVE ANY ANSWERS, PLEASE HELP I AM DESPERATE:(

2|1|Have Dr. check to see if you have a hiatel hernia. Stomach burning, acid , this is different from acid reflux, It's a hole where it shouldn't be and the acid comes out of it. Had it for many year, take prilosec prescription, will be on it for the rest of my life. Second , I would find a different Dr., to get another opinion. Something is drastically wrong. You'll get dehydrated, get to another Dr. and ask him to also check for hiatel hernia.

I had issues last fall and almost had hubby call an ambulance one night as it got to the point I was getting so dizzy and passing out. Went to the doctor, took blood, stool samples and unltrasound. They finally diagnosed me with IBS and put me on Dicyclom which has worked wonders. She also instructed me to stay away from fatty, greasy, acidy, citrusy foods.

THEY STILL DONT KNOW ANYTHING THIS IS FRUSTRATING:( SOME OF MY STOOL SAMPLE RESULTS CAME BACK AND I HATE WHEN THEY TALK IN BIG MEDICAL WORDS I ASKED THEM WHAT DOES THIS AND THAT MEAN CAN THEY EXPLAIN IT IN ENGLISH. STILL DIDNT UNDERSTAND PRETTY MUCH SAID EVERYTHING LOOKS OK. THEY ARE STILL WAITING FOR ONE TEST TO COME BACK SOMETHING ABOUT A SPORE TEST IT TAKES UP TO 10 DAYS FOR RESULTS FOR THAT :( I TOLD THEM I AM MISERABLE SOMETHING IS WRONG ITS NOT NORMAL TO HAVE SEVERE DIREHHA FOR OVER 2 WEEKS I CANT STOP GOING. I AM A PRISONER IN MY OWN HOUSE. I CANT GO ANYWHERE OR DO ANYTHING FOR FEAR OF HAVING ACCIDENTS. I FEEL SO WEAK, I AM TIRED ALL THE TIME, STARTING TO FALL ASLEEP ALL OVER THE PLACE AND DONT REALIZE IT. MY WHOLE BODY ACHES, I AM DRAINED. (GROSS) THEY SAID THEY CANT GIVE ME ANYTHING FOR DIREHHA TILL THEY FIGURE OUT WHAT IT IS. :( THEY NEED TO FIGURE THIS OUT QUICK I AM WASTING AWAY HERE. I DONT EAT HARDLY ANYTHING CAUSE I AM NOT HUNGRY AND WHAT LITTLE I DO EAT RUNS RIGHT OUT OF ME. SEEMS WORSE WHEN I EAT OR DRINK SOMETHING. I DONT DO ALOT OF DAIRY SO I KNOW I AM NOT LACTOSE INTOLERANT. I HAVE ALWAYS HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY STOMACH AS FAR AS HEARTBURN AND FEELING NAUSEATED ESPECIALLY AFTER EATING CERTAIN THINGS. THEN IT GOT BETTER FOR AWHILE NOW ITS GOT BAD AND NOW I GOT THE WORST CASE OF DIREHHA I HAVE EVER HAD :( I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHAT IT IS IF ITS IBS HOW DO THEY FIGURE THAT OUT AND WHAT DO I DO TO GET RID OF IT? AND IF IT IS THAT WHY DID IT JUST NOW START DOING THIS NOT DO IT ALL ALONG? DR JUST CALLED ME AGAIN SAYING THEY NEED TO REDO ONE OF MY TESTS I NEED TO PICK UP A C-DIFS CUP FRIDAY MORNING WHEN I PICK UP MY CONTRAST THEN DROP OFF SAMPLE IN AFTERNOON WHEN I GO FOR MY CT. UGH ... WILL THIS EVER END :( ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.

_my IBS started at 11pm one night out of the blue. I had heartburn for awhile prior to this also. After a week or so i went to my doc - ultrasound came back fine and she had me start the meds before going into more expensive tests. I lost 14 lbs in 10 days snd was exhausted. the meds were an almost instant cure for me. I hope you get answers soon.

I know the 1st thing that came to my mind when I read your OP was that maybe you ingested something that was contaminated or having recently traveled some where & gotten into something contaminated.
