I was in bed asleep and he had been on the couch asleep. I limped, really into the LR as he was running down the stairs opening the door that someone was banging on. It was my neighbor (apartement) and she was holding her little dog, screaming get out, get out there is a fire. DH ran back up the stairs as I am running away back into the bedroom. He is now chasing me as I am going to get my shoes and my purse, he doesn't know what I am doing. OMG, things run thru your mind, like what can I grab, I need my pictures of Mackie, I need my purse and I spent a fortune on that Bif Foot Monster for Anthony for Christmas. He grabs me and helps me put my shoes on and then brings me down the steps. He runs back in and gets his shoes and a coat for me. All of the people in our building are safe and together.
My immediate next door neighbor, the woman banging on everyone's door is the one who has the fire in her kitchen, a plasterboard wall separating hers from mine. She was in the shower when her teeny, tiny dog ran in crying. She listened and smelled the fire, then she called all of us. It was her mcirowave. I was sitting next to her on the concrete steps and she asked me to hold her dog while she fixed herself a bit. She said to me she had to look a mess, I said, you actually look like a hero to me. It smells nasty, alittle better than a couple of hours ago, but I have a few more things in my life to be grateful for. I said thank-you to the firemen and my DH and my neighbor, I think I am going to go get a big bone for a teeny little dog named Tiny.
I intend to have a very good day now, I hope you do too.
