5 0|0|Thanks for the turkey tips, girls! I used several suggestions, and the turkey turned out DE-licious! I also made a ham that everyone loved, so I was two for two :) (The ham was glazed with a mixture of apricot preserves and spicy brown mustard, simmered first, then put on top of the ham).|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|19:15:37|11/25/2010|

1|1|This is how I make my ham....|jdlaurie|savethosepennies@aol.com|19:41:23|11/25/2010|
Pineapple slices with cherries in the middle of them held all over the ham with toothpicks, then I pour canada dry ginger ale, pineapple juice and a little marachino cherry juice over the top and use it to base the ham. Then I use the drippings to make gravy.
My family has always loved it and I've never had a dried out ham. I love cooking at the holidays.
I love to hear how others make their meals
Laurie 2|1|NEVER read food tips or recipes from others right before a big holiday meal. LOL|maraj|maraj64@hotmail.com|19:42:08|11/25/2010|
I'm SOOOO stuffed it should've been me in that oven. LOL
But it was a nice, quiet & close-knit Thanksgiving dinner today w/just my son, my mom & I. After we ate, we sat around the table gabbing & then played Scattegories. :)
We looked for my niece & her little girl to join us today but it must've been too cold or the weather too treacherous in her area to make it (it was supposed to have snowed a few inches there yesterday/last night). :(
But the hen turkey I made turned out so moist you could've squeezed juice out of it & everything must've been a hit w/my mom & my son cuz they both eagerly agreed when I offered to send most of the leftovers home w/them, except my son loved the mashed potatoes so much my mom & I let him take all of those. LOL I got the gravy, the pumpkin pie & cool whip, some lefse & the cranberry sauce. ROFL!!
Now, who wants to come & do up my dishes??? LOL
Joy, I'm glad you had such a wonderful day & hope everyone else did too. :)

3|2|Sounds like you had a wonderful day with your mom and CJ :) I'm glad we didnt have much leftover, I dont mind eating it once more, but after that I'm sick of looking at it! LOL I made my dressing different this year, on the stove top to free up the oven space, and it was terrific!|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|21:10:57|11/25/2010|

4|1|Yet another receipe, too late for thanksgiving. but in time for Christmas|flapper|joyphalen@yahoo.com|13:43:52|11/27/2010|
My sister-in-law worked for a company called Arpeco in Rochester, NY and they used this receipe for their hams.
it's a champagne ham:
Put the ham in roasting pan, then pour a mixture of these combined---1 whole bottle of champagne, I used Andre and I can of black cherries, and the juice from the can and 2 Tbs of brown sugar, mix together and pour it over the ham and cover with tin foil. Really tasty and juicy.
I prefer no fee paypal, but will accept cc, stamps plus postage
Thank You
