LOL! I'm actually going to get ours the day after Thanksgiving. I may actually find a fake tree this year because it seems that I am allergic to real ones (or to whatever they spray them with to make them last longer is what I suspect). Two years ago I had to go to the ER and then last year I was super careful not to touch the tree, but was still miserably sick when it was brought in and taken down. So something is up with that.
What a stupid thing to be allergic to! I love real trees and it makes me mad! We actually spent several years living in the middle of the forest, so it is funny in a sense. Hopefully I can find a nice fake one (I am thinking thrift store!)
On another note one of Santa's reindeer was just spotted by my kitchen window this morning (friends see my FB profile for pics and if anyone wants to see just add Vanessa Martynse Houk and I'll friend you!) my son is allergic to 48 different items and many of them are different types of trees, grass, plants, etc! Not just pollen. Who would have known!
I think he's safe with xmas trees, but I will have to watch him closely this year to make sure now that we know!

Somehow it is easier to think that it is the spray, but you're probably spot on! I have terrible seasonal allergies too. If his skin starts to get splotchy and he looks puffy at all get him to the doc. Pine trees, pine-sol, pine nuts, even pine scented candles (any scented candles actually). She loves the smell but can't be around anything w/pine in it or she gets really sick w/itching, hives, & swollen/puffy face & red blotches all over.
I love the smell of a real tree for Christmas too but I don't like the mess afterwards so I have a fiber optic tree & just burn pine scented candles. :)
