It's like everytime I try to get ahead a little, I end up going backwards. My dang teeth are driving me crazy and giving me problems, that's why I haven't been around too much lately. Anyways Thank goodness the dentist gave me some antibiodics and pain med, cause I was feeling really really bad, even my heart was bothering me more than usual. So next Monday I'm gonna have two teeth pulled, the dentist said he would work out some sort of payment with us, since I have no insurance, I need dentures bad, and sure wish he did them but he doesn't and I can't afford to pay for them outright. I don't qualify for anything either, we make like $55 a month too much for me to get any type of help. I know we will get through this, we always do, just gotta keep the faith. I think I'm worried about Thanksgiving too, cause I'm having the dental work done 3 days before and am hoping it won't be so bad. We are having Thanksgiving here at our place, my son and his wife and our granddaughter will be here, plus my ex-husband and his parents are coming. my ex-inlaws are wonderful and even though they aren't Cheyenne's bio-grandparents, they treat her good and she loves them. We haven't seen them in a year and a half and Cheyenne is very excited for them to come up, so I don't want to cancel and spoil it for her. Please say a prayer for me, I would really appreciate it...Hugs, Rebekka

I don't know a whole lot about them, but it isn't the same as insurance. My understanding is that if you have a plan membership, you're entitled to a discounted rate if you see one of their network dentists. Some of the plans cover dentures too. It might be worth looking into. The annual plans for individuals seem to run around $100-$150 (they have family plans too), but if you find one that the dentist you're seeing on Monday participates in and it's activated by Monday, you might save enough on the extractions to cover the plan cost.
There are probably other websites, but the one I came across is www.dentalplans.com.
If it were me, I think I'd do a search on the website for participating dentists in my area, call a few of the offices and ask if they do in fact participate, and ask one of the people who works with the billing or insurance or whatever their opinion of the dental plan. Tell them you're considering getting dentures and would the plan actually offer much in the way of savings. They probably have other patients who have a dental plan so they'll have seen whether or not it makes a difference.
Anyhow, just a thought. I hope things go smoothly on Monday and I'll keep my fingers crossed for a quick pre-Thanksgiving recovery.

They are gonna pull the teeth tommorrow, so I may not be around for a few days. My anxiety is flared, I just dread it, but I know it has to be done. I will be glad when they are done, plus now Cheyenne is having tooth problem, I think she may be cutting a wisdom tooth, so she has an appt. next Tuesday to see what's going on. Like I said, when it rains it pours. UGH!
