14 0|0|What's on the menu for Thanksgiving at your house?|Skaytes|skaytez@gmail.com|14:42:47|11/14/2010|

Daughter and her beau are coming for Thanksgiving this year as usual and bringing a friend who has no where else to go (yes..they asked if he could come :))so getting menu on paper and ingredient list going so I can have all I need before the big day as sales coupled with coupons can make ingredients cheap for me etc. Luckily I already have a lot of stuff here from sales/stockpiling so won't be much more I have to buy yet. Whewww! :) Trying to have the stand by favorites kids want but wondered what everyone else will be fixing.
here is my list so far..looks like a lot but believe me they can eat like crazy and I am not cooking again for several days! lol

Turkey
cranberry sauce
deviled eggs
corn casserole
green bean casserole
sweet potatoes
reg mashed potatoes
gravy
broccoli,rice & cheese casserole
7 layer salad
baked beans
rolls
BLT dip
diane's dessert (has coolwhip, cherry jello (dry), pineapple tidbits, cherry pie filling)
dirt pudding
stuffing pies-lemon,pumpkin,sugar cream, chocolate
peach cobbler
1|1|Sad to say nothing here..... :( DH is still overseas and my inlaws are planning on taking my daughter to meet some family and I have to work all the way up till the day before so Im not planning anything for Thanksgiving. :(|jen_ron|bugsmamma@earthlink.net|14:54:49|11/14/2010|

along with twiced baked potatoes, cream corn/corn bread casserole, homemade cranberry sauce, sugar carrots, homemade sausage stuffing, rolls, and of course pie for later. all cooking all day and it only takes a few minutes to eat it up. Then all the clean up! 5|1|I'm having T'giving for the Merrills this year, kinda last minute, but they are traditional...so turkey, stuffing, mashed and gravy, scalloped corn, green beans almondine, veggie/relish tray, rolls, whole cranberry sauce, pies, cookies. I would like to make some kind of salad dish, but not sure yet....thinking of making chopped salad.|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|18:22:29|11/14/2010|

but I'm still going to make:

A 20-24 lb turkey
Green Bean Casserole
Sweet Potato casserole
Mashed Potatoes (made with real potatoes)
Gravy (made from scratch)
Jellied Cranberry Sauce (no one likes the real kind)
Stuffing
Pumpkin Pie (I buy these... takes too long to make with the kids around)
Apple Pie (I buy these... takes too long to make with the kids around)
Vanilla Ice Cream (from the store)

I'll have Gingerale and Cherry's for the kids

I also make a Turkey and Rice Soup at the end of the night with the bones

Nothing goes to waste. We enjoy eating leftovers for every meal for days after Thanksgiving. We hardly ever eat Turkey... so it's a real treat filling up on it this time of year.

She's bringing my niece and nieces boyfriend, so I will have 8.
I'm doing:
Turkey and stuffing
mashed potatoes and gravy
steamed broccoli and carrots
rolls or bread (probably Costco's)
cranberry sauce (wanted to make from scratch but my weird hubby likes the canned stuff because of the jelly like consistency of it. Easier on me at least since I don't eat it)
Which reminds me that I usually make jello because it is another thing I only make once a year since I don't eat it either. (haha!)
Probably corn or maybe green beans, going back and forth on that.
And I am considering scalloped potatoes since I am not certain that my niece will eat turkey and my oldest daughter absolutely won't, so I need some kind of a protein for the non-meat eaters in the crowd.

And then there is the dessert menu which is even more serious, LOL!
I'll make fudge between now and then so we'll have some of that.
Pumpkin pie and whip cream
My sisters favorite cookies which are those russian teacakes. That way I can give them to her and not mail them for the holidays.
Probably something else too, my mind is blank.\

I can't wait! :0)
11|1|I am untraditional, do not like turkey at all, and neither does my husband, so why spend all day cooking it!! I am going to make a ham, but have no idea what else yet.|dlpavitt|dlpavitt@att.net|17:17:03|11/15/2010|
