Hey, we put in for Megan's SSI, we were denied, and appealed it. I called today and they said a decision has been made and we will get something in the mail. They said they couldn't say anything over the phone.
Then SSA called this pm, asking if Megan wanted me to be her payee, and what account. Question, does this sound like she was approved? Thanks for your imput.,Angie

When I got married for thr first time and went to change my name they had my birthdate wrong. They actually told me my MOM was wrong with the date she told me I was born on because they NEVER make mistakes.... Well it took 6 months to work out but they were wrong. And when it came to my SSI.... They owed me money and issues me a check to cover the missing amount. That check was never directly deposited and they reissued it.... They then said they over paid me (which they hadn't) and would not listen when I tried to explain about the missing deposit. They took out more then a $100- a month for over a year to get their money back. And another time they did not give me 1/2 of my check. I called and no one knew why. Now at the time I was getting under $700- and living on my own. 3 weeks later they gave me the missing money saying they would have to investigate it.... Never heard anything. Over the past 15 years there have been other things. I have learned never to think one way or another with these people until you see things in black and white.

I know there are alot of people that don't agree with the goverment and that they don't ACT fast. Please have an OPEN mind about SSI. I guess I am very lucky, as I
didn't have any problems with my case or when I got the funds or when my coverage with Medicare started. Everything went great and I still yet have NOT had ANY
problems with them. There have been times where I do have to call them about something and they have always been very nice.
I got my REWARD-Check First, back then they MAILED your Reward Check to you, they don't deposit it. (that was 10 yrs ago) Then the attorney got his.
I will pray that it is a good outcome for you. I waited 2 years and that was the hardest & longest 2 years, that Todd & I have ever had. Living on 1 income was very hard, in fact we had to move in with one of my sister's.
Even when they have done my REVIEW, which is every 5 years, still no problems. If you do have a problem just remember that we are human and we ALL make mistakes!

They called wanting direct deposit info.
SSA said she was approve. This means she
will get Medicaid. We are forking out $500 a
month for copays for her now. I won't believe it
till I see it, but I can't stop praising the Lord.
