NEED HELP PLEASE. I HAVE TRIED LOOKING AT SITES ABOUT IT BUT ITS ALL CONFUSING TO ME. ALSO I DONT KNOW WHAT SITES ARE LEGIT AND WHICH ONES ARENT. HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP ME. FIRST QUESTION I HAVE IS FOR MY OLDEST SON WHO GETS DISABILITY HE HAS MANIC DEPRESSION, BIPOLAR AS WELL AS OTHER THINGS. ANYWAYS I WAS WONDERING IS THERE HELP OUT THERE FOR THEM TO GET A PLACE TO LIVE LIKE HELPING THEM PAY FOR IT? HE WANTS HIS OWN PLACE BUT DOESNT GET MUCH DISABILITY AT ALL, THERES NO WAY HE CAN AFFORD A PLACE ON WHAT HE GETS. I WAS WONDERING WHERE HE WOULD GO TO GET THE HELP IF THERE IS ANY, WE ARE IN MISSOURI. SECOND QUESTION I HAVE IS FOR ME, I WAS DIAGONOSED WITH EMPHYSEMA, SEVERE DEPRESSION, SEVERE ANXIETY, INSOMNIA, ETC. I GO TO A PSYCHRITRIST AND MED DR. THEY TOLD ME TO APPLY FOR DISABILITY BECAUSE I CANT HARDLY WORK CAUSE I AM SICK ALOT AND CAUSE OF MY CONDITION. I APPLIED SEVERAL TIMES AND WAS TURNED DOWN 1) CAUSE I AM STILL MARRIED AND 2) CAUSE THEY SAID I DIDNT GET ENOUGH TAX CREDITS IN. IS THIS TRUE? SHOULD I JUST GIVE UP OR WHAT SHOULD I DO? They would also know the criteria to get disability. With my husbands disabiltiy fight, I was so happy we had lawyer. Highly recommend it.
ALso, for your son, I would think, he should start with welfare, and tell them, he wants to live on his own. The would help with providing low income housing ETC, if he is eligible.

From your post, you might not have enough work "quarters" in to qualify. Marriage has nothing to do with SSDI (disability) but alot to do with SSI (low income based).
And for your son..... basically he needs to find places that allow Section 8. (I think it's still called that) That's where the government helps pay some of the rent and it each person's rent is based on their income. In some communal type apartments it can also include water and electricity. You could also call a Community Action Agency to see if they have a list. 11|2|Depending on where you live it can take YEARS to get section 8. I WILL CHECK INTO IT ALL. I APPLIED BEFORE GOT TURNED DOWN CAUSE I DONT HAVE ENOUGH CREDITS. (MOST JOBS I HAD WERE CASH JOBS THROUGH THE YEARS.) NOW I WISH I WOULDNT HAVE WORKED FOR CASH ALL THE TIME CAUSE NOW BY MY CARD I GET THAT SAYS WHAT YOU EARNED I DIDNT GET ENOUGH CREDITS. ALSO THEY DENIED ME CAUSE THEY ARE GOING BY HIS INCOME. I AM TRYING TO GET UP WITH A LAWYER TO SEE WHAT I CAN DO. I DONT KNOW IF I SIGNED UP FOR THE WRONG THING OR WHAT. AS FOR MY SON PUTTING HIS NAME ON LIST ONLY PROBLEM IS HE NEEDS SOMETHING NOW. HE IS STAYING WITH A FRIEND BUT CAN ONLY STAY THERE FOR A MONTH OR SO. HE HAS NO WHERE ELSE TO GO AND CANT COME HERE CAUSE WE HAVE HAD TOO MANY PROBLEMS WITH HIM. MY LANDLORD AND THE COPS HAVE SAID HE CANT COME BACK HERE. EVEN THOUGH I WANT HIM HERE THEY SAY HE CANT CAUSE HE IS DESTRUCTIVE WHEN HE IS HERE, STARTS FIGHTS CONSTANTLY. THE COPS ARE ALWAYS HERE WHEN HE IS HERE AND I HAVE TWO OTHER KIDS I HAVE TO LOOK OUT FOR. HE IS 21, THEY ARE 15 AND 13. IT UPSETS ME MY HANDS ARE TIED I CAN ONLY DO SO MUCH TO HELP HIM, WANT HIM TO GET HIS LIFE STRAIGHT SO BAD.
