1|1|There's really no way to tell for sure, but you can try 'thumping' the end of the toe and see if the pain sends you through the roof :P Generally, swelling, severe bruising all the way through (top and bottom) are signs it is broken. everyone said they can't do anything about it no sense going to ER so I didn't it hurts for a bit them quit, a while later I was getting x rays for something else and had my toe x rayed it had been broke and didn't heal right, It doesn't bother me except when I wear certain sandals, figured it don't bother me except for that I won't bother it Linda 3|2|The pain is not very bad - Only when I try to move it. Since I am on blood thinners and the brusing is not very bad, I am thinking it looks worse then it really s becaause of that.
