i am wondering where i can find a list of things they are wanting peopel to send
my family wants to pack a few boxes for some family members we have over there

here is a basic list that we had. if it is someone we know I get a request list for other items they would like.
dried fruits
nuts
gum
mints
spices
granola bars
protien bars
rice crispy treats
crystal light or any drink packets you add to bottle water
NON-FOOD:
foot powder
foot spray - no metal cans
body powder
dry or wick socks - these are sports socks that keep feet dry, I get them at Kohls
chapstick
sun tan lotion
aquaphor lotion
hand sanitizer
body wipes
scott or cottonelle wipes
nasal spray
nasal saline mist
eye drops
mucinex
tums, rolaids, antacids
International Calling cards
face lotion (I get one with SPF in it)

Things that dont make your normal lists are things like canned goods, boxed meals. Things that they can make themselves in their own rooms. A lot of times they will miss chow times due to missions, work schedules, etc and by sending them things they can make a meal out of, it makes it easier on them. They also LOVE snack cakes. Still have to stay away from things that will melt as its still in the 100's over there. I even sent my DH a cheap set of pots and pans and they love to cook up some dried lima beans or other kinds of dried beans and then make corn bread to go with it. I even send breakfast stuff like pankcake mix (add only water type) and syrup so that every now and again they can sleep in a little instead of gettin up so early to walk that mile + to chow hall. I didnt really read over petunia's list so maybe she already has some of this stuff. Oh, they also like baby wipes or flushable wipes, helps them to clean up when they are on the road.
