your mind never goes back, maybe gets worse. I had baby #3 in january, I still have not recovered. My first two were easy as pie as far as my healing. I never leaked with any of them :) Maybe my milk didnt come in, dont know did not breast feed, and luckily never hurt when the milk dried up, if it ever came in. I hac c-sections with all. Everyones experience is different, hopefully it will be a great experience and there will be no problems adjusting. one piece of advise, enjoy everyday cuz it just goes by soooooo fast! Stay calm, my first two were colicky, cried for hours and hours on end. Here are my not so fun answers! And probably more info than anyone wants to know!
Bladder? Went to the bathroom nearly 30 times yesterday alone.... You would have thought that would have been enough to keep me from wetting my pants when I laughed... Nope. I laughed so hard last night I had to change my PJ pants!
You are delivering by c-section right? I never delivered that way... both of mine were natural child birth and since it hurt so much to pee after natural child birth because of the tearing and such, you just don't do it much afterwards if you can help it! LOL The wetting your pants when you laugh, sneeze etc... that may never go away! Apparently it's very normal for this to continue after child birth -- my Doctor even told me his wife has had this problem since she delivered her first! I'm sure she would be thrilled to know he told me that!
Drooling? I never drooled at night like I do now. I read it is normal, but I am getting tired of having to wake up ever 1/2 hour to move my pillow over a bit.
Didn't have this issue.
Oh, and when do you start waking up to leaking boobs? I hear that this can start before the baby is born.
I went into labor at just over 36 weeks... so I never got close to the end... but I hear it can happen before the baby is born as well. And it doesn't always happen after waking, it can happen anywhere at any time. I breast fed and it would do it whenever it wanted and you can't always tell it's happening, you just look down and see a big spot on your shirt! I was always looking for it and had to keep lots of extra pads around! Also, it was worse when a baby (any baby) would cry. Didn't realize how many crying babies were around until this started to happen!
There were more questions I had, but my mind has gone blanke... Oh, yeah, when does your mind go back to normal? I forget what I am going into other rooms for, who I was going to call when I pick up my phone and other crazy things lately. I have been told I have mommy brain.
As for your mind...It's gone... never to return again! I have had this issue for 8+ years! The baby steals part of your mind and you never get it back! LOL

I suffer from acid reflux and it was much worse while pregnant. After he was out and I had more room, it went back to normal.

Bladder? ---- Depends. If you have a c-section, they might pump you full of IV fluids. This is a total bummer because you can leave weighing more after birth than before. But it will subside in a few days.
Drooling? --- Can't help you there, but isn't hypersalivation fun? Oh yeah.
Oh, and when do you start waking up to leaking boobs? --- I didn't have this problem til after birth. First child was c - section and it wasn't til after I got home - day 4 after birth - that the milk came in. With DS, it was like first day while I was in the hospital. It can be delayed for c-section moms. Don't freak, but definitely go often to have your baby's weight checked. The lactation consultants at the hospital I delivered at had an office and we could do it there for free. Also, for breast fed babies, the pediatrician will want to see you more often at first because they want to make sure there's no milk issues. Formula bottles come with handy measurements on the sides of the bottles; your bubbas don't!
Mommy brain never goes away. It at least gets better when they let you sleep for at least 4 hours at a stretch though ;) Sleep in while you can.
