I am only asking for your view on this and not to be flamed please and please note that I am not mentioning anybody in particular here... :) I just recently asked for 3 forms that are .25ea plus postage.. the trade is not even $1 plus postage.. the forms are everywhere and not rare. The forms are also short dated... I have been here on RS many years and have a long list of good feedback and so does the trader in which I was planning to get these 3 .25 forms from. WHY would she tell me she would hold my forms until she received my end first? I do not think this is fair at all and since I need these forms as soon as possible, well... I told her i'd find them from somewhere else. This person has a long list of good feedback so I know she is a good trader and i'm not questioning that at all. Perhaps it is because we've not traded before but that's why we have to feedback forum. I also know she has a right to hold her end if she wants and I did tell her I DO appreciate her letting me know she was holding her end.. I canceled this trade though.. So I was just wondering those of you who hold your end, WHY do you? I would like to understand and perhaps I am being too sensitive and am I wrong for canceling? Please give me your views. when feedback can be viewed and it shows good feedback abd one is a long time trader then there should be no reason for holding ones end what if you traded that way too and told her you were holding your end till you got the forms? where would tradeing be then? These days, no fb and you just don't know.
My guess would be it is because she has not traded with you before. Did you direct her to your fb so she could see your good fb history? Maybe she didn't go look on her own??

I try not to take it personally, although I really do not understand it either. My feedback is a mile long, and well we have trade numerous times. I do not let it bother me. I just keep in mind if, I need something fast, not to make the trade with them. Otherwise, I am fine with trading with them. That is just me. I just do not allow myself to grt worked up over it. The trade the OP was talking about was with me. The postmark date for the forms is 11/13...they are not short-dated forms. Apparently she took this personally, which I feel bad about. I usually trade using paypal and not cc/money orders so much.
Almost all of the trades I sent cc or money orders for, the person would hold the order until they got the cc or money order. It was my understanding that is how cc/money order trades work. I was not at all offended by this, as like I said, I thought this was how cc/money order trades are to be done.
I don't have any control or power issues, and I sure did not mean to offend anyone in any way.

12|4|I don't hold coupons or forms for cc members either. I think both should send their end at the same time. I know SOME do hold...but mostly for larger trades I think. If someone tells me they are holding their end until they get mine.....I cancel the trade as well. All you have to do is use WHITE-OUT, and use it on another trade, that way you can still use the envelope & the stamp!

If you do not have white out, you can either glue or tape a white piece of paper over the old address. I have had to do that in the past when I messed up writing an address & did not have any white out. Just a suggestion!

if you put rubbing alcohol on the back of the env (behind the stamp)--the stamp will peel off undamaged
Someone told me abt this recently and it works great.....
moisten the paper that the stamp is adhering to (from the back side) ....

If I make a mistake, I just rip the env., up and toss, I would never hold on to my end at all. In fact when I started on RS, I thought feedback was like a praise for doing a good job. I've traded dozens of times and never asked for a feedback nor did I leave too many. But as time went on I saw how important it is. But remember no matter how much feedback you have, someone can still take your money and run. You really have to just trust. It all adds up to the honor system. There will always be those who don't want to follow that rule. But the majority will and those are the ones you want to trade with. In all my years of trading, proud to say I have never been burnt, I have always gotten their end.

I don't know why any 1 specific person would've been offended when no 1 specific person was named in the OP.
Until Mindylou "outed" herself, nobody could've known if Destiny was referring to anyone in particular or not & even she was, they wouldn't have known who. At least I didn't. Destiny did state in her OP that she wasn't mentioning any particular person, so I believe she meant that she was NOT directing her post at any 1 specific person. She was merely asking what our opinions were on holding or not holding. And since NOONE in particular was mentioned, noone could've possibly intended to pick on Mindylou specifically cuz her name was NOT mentioned in the OP.
