My father just called and he has been at the hospital ER since noon. He told me he took my mother to the urgent care yesterday after she complained about back pain and was throwing up. They found she had a bad kidney infection and sent her home with an Rx for that. Dad said she was slightly better this morning and had some yogurt and juice about 9:30 am for breakfast and said she was going to lay down and rest but at noon today when he went to check on her and get her lunch she was unresponsive and shaking like crazy. He couldn't get her up or get her to respond, he couldn't carry her down a flight of stairs by himself either and had to call 911. Thank goodness the FD is just 2 blocks away and they get there very quickly every time they have been called. She is in the emergency room and they still don't know what is wrong. They have given her IVs of antibotics, fluids and many tests as well as a CT scan of her brain have already been done but they can't figure out what is wrong. Now he says they have to do a CT scan of her abodmen and that will take 2-3 hours. My mother has never been to the hospital until now and her healty lately has been going pretty rapidly down hill.
Now all I can do is sit here and worry. I worry about both my parents ending up there since my father is a severe diabetic and when he neglects himself he gets really bad, he's been to the hospital at least 3 times this year almost in a dabetic coma from low blood sugar.
I can't stop crying. They are all I have...I'm an only child.
I need prayers PLEASE!

i'm sorry to hear what your mom is going thru...I hope and pray that they will find out whats wrong and get her

Jennifer, I can't believe how you have been so kind to me in the midst of your own personal crisis.
Believe me, I can relate 100% with what you are going through! I am an only child too, and I well remember my parents health going downhill rapidly, in their 80's. Hang in there, and try to get as much rest as you can, so that you yourself won't get sick. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
P.S. there is NO rush at all about the other matter.

As of 8pm 10/1 they are finally moving her to a room. She's been in hold between the ER and a room since my Dad left the hospital at 2:30 AM last night/this morning. Not sure when he went back today he didn't say and I spoke to him last at 7:30 AM. She is now aware of who she is and where she is and Dad says she is slightly better but they are still doing tons of tests and still don't know 100% what is wrong.
