Do traders actually send large amounts of cash (more than $10 is large to me) when making trades?
I guess I'm kind of surprised to think that people actually risk sending large amts. of cash in the mail???
Fact of life: After Monday and Tuesday..even the CALENDAR says...

Please identify yourself in 1st email w/name/username. Due to recent problem trades, if I haven't traded w/you before, I will probably require you send your end 1st or I'll need LEGIT trade references/feedback. I will be happy to provide the same. IF you plan to hold your end til you've received mine, I will need to know that IMMEDIATELY, BEFORE trade is finalized.

send me cash for trades over $10. It would make me nervous, but they have been doing it for a long time and know how to pack it up in between sheets so it's "well concealed," Never had a problem with it arriving safely.

If the person will not accept a check or a mo then I simply pass on the trade. I had cash disappear once and we agreed to have the cash replaced with stamps mailed from usps.com directly to the recipient............. when she got the stamps she got mad and emailed me stating it was supposed to be cash ect ect ect... I simply re-forwarded the email where we agreed to the stamps and it turns out she had forgotten we had made that arrangement. It was a mess and I've not sent a large cash trade since.
