But I imagine it depends on how well surgery goes, the dr. & then too, the person having the surgery. I think there may have been some complications w/my neighbor's surgery. I do know that after the pace-maker was put in, there were some complications getting his blood pressure to go/stay down. I don't think there was any complications w/the defibrilator surgery. He just said that w/both the pace-maker & the defibrilator he wouldn't be able to carry a cell phone in his left shirt pocket now, can't be next to a microwave when it's in use, & half-jokingly mentioned that I wouldn't be seeing him outside when it's lightning.

Doc said 4 to 5 weeks before driving maybe a week less or more just depends. No use of arm for 5 days & then very limited use for 2 weeks. No heavy lifting & such. Phones including reg. phone is to be used on opposite side of surgery or at least 6 in. away from pace maker. Microwave use , do not stand in front of a microwave while using, stand to side or away from it. She can take a bath & no worry about it getting wet. Just cover with bandaid.
