Started today making sets of cloth napkins in pks of 12, I am making a set for my parents and friends so they can be more eco-friendly and do away with paper towels...save our trees! I am thinking of more things to make. I know I am gonna make a harley davidson lamp for my bf, out of reycled materials(might post finished photo and instructions on my blog).

I am pondering the idea of whipping up a couple dog clothes for my niece's dogs & need something new for my dog as well. And thinking of sewing up some x-mas stockings to donate to Shelly on here if does the Angel x-mas this year, and also want to make some up to donate to moms in one of my groups.

She wants to make my oldest son and his wife a wreath for Christmas to hang on their door. Also she's been trying to figure out what she wants to make for her niece (my granddaughter Alayna). As for myself, I've got a few ideas, but haven't started anything yet :) I am thinking about taking a Dale Earnhardt monopoly board and glue the pieces on it, then shellac it or whatever and give it to my son (he's a big Dale fan) for Christmas :)

Rebekka, those ideas sound cool! I like the monopoly game idea, I've seen where people frame the boards too. I use to have a glass coffee table and I slid a old ouija board from the 70's underneath the glass so you could see it from the top of the coffee table, looked pretty cool and I got a lot of comments on it, lol...something different.

** I have to order the light for the lamp so will post it when I get it all together, and the lamp you can make it in any print, but bf is a biker so I am picking harley print for him.

You'll need a empty dvd spindle case that holds 50 or 100 dvd's. I am gonna use the 100 dvd spindle case as that one is taller.

I made a pattern last year for my napkins, when finished they are 11 x 10 1/2 wide and the napkins have curved corners which makes the napkins look nicer than squared off. I use 100% cotton, in cute prints for the top and the bottom side I use flannel which works well wiping fingers and face clean. I sew them with right sides together, leave a opening to turn them, and then sew close the opening using a 3/8 seam and continue sewing all the way around the napkin, as the top stitching makes them look nicer and makes them very durable and hold up to washings great!

* Some people say cloth napkins are unsanitary, NOT TRUE! I wash mine in hot water with a cap full(not cupful) of bleach and laudry detergent to make them sanitary. Or you can use color safe bleach also to sanitize and clean them.

so I have a little bit done now.
I have completed:
10- pairs of mittens for Anthony, a few of the pairs have 3 mittens in case he loses one!
a set of 7 cotton knitted facecloths with animals knitted in for Anthony
a naptime blanket for daycare with his name knitted down the rows, yeah, for Anthony!
a scarf and hat set hopefully for my Christmas child this year
4- sets of a knitted wardrobe for Barbie including a wedding dress, did 1 for my great-niece, Lola,
1 for my Christmas child (hoping for this age group) and 2 for DH's grandchildren
1- Knitted scarf, mittens and hat for my step-son's fiancee, oh, I adore her!

I plan on making the facecloths and daycare blanket for granddaughter, Vanessa.
I made Santa Keys for Anthony and Vanessa but they obviously won't be for Christmas.
For Amy, I have a Christmas themed scrapbook that I will make the pages and let her have it to fill in for herself.
My gosh, I forgot that I just made 2 batches of peach jam that I will give to family and also my customers at work.
Looking foward to getting some more ideas from the crafty girls here! I wish I could sew like Linda!!

and so does'nt require cutting a hole in the base, amd has the on/off switch as well and I am changing mine a bit and will add a small hole in the back so the cord does'nt run along the bottom of the base and am making a taller one lamp. Have you made one of these before?

18|3|No, I have not made one of them before BUT the project caught my interest because of my husband's love for Harleys. |littlewolf|CCsuterlab@aol.com|19:02:04|09/07/2010|

We built a shop for him last year and he has been adding Harley things to it. One of my friends took a set of Harley sheets & turned them into curtains for him. The lamp seems like something he might like in there as well. Now, I did help my Mom make a lamp years & years ago out of Popsicle sticks. LOL!!

Most of our pics of the full bike were taken at night, so don't show up well..my bf's bike is the one on the right, the bike on the left is his cousins new bike. I think we are going to take the bike out this coming weekend, so I can take along my camera and get a pic during daylight hours so you can see the sidecar too which is on the other side, the only downer of owning this bike is I always have to ride in the sidecar..lol! we almost tipped over when I did'nt ride it in, oh my..

Bf bought his bike new had to be on the waiting list for a year to get the bike, than he specially ordered the matching sidecar and had to wait 6 months for that to come in from the factory. I think there was only 2,500 or 3,000 max of just the bike...have'nt seen anyone that has the matching sidecar to this edition bike yet..
