yup....i was screaming as quietly as i could...just want to cry....one more darn thing...so...looking to replace whole unit, as i called the appliance guy who checked, and found

b-could get in another color..for 400.00
so....now am looking to replace the whole unit....
i did check craigs list as i know sometimes new units are on there...not when i need it...so need suggestions on brands etc...we are looking to stay under 500.00 truthfully...as we have put out lots of money on things lately....any suggestions...please...we have the following stores to choose from

As to gas...never had it as a kid, so never got comfortable with the thought of it..MIL has it, and loves it....
as to how did i shatter it...the bottle was in the cabinet above...and it was not what i was reaching for, but next to it...and it just fell, end over end......i did one of those dives for it...more concerned to not have worstershire from one end of the kitchen to the other...well, i sure as heck wish that was what shattered. I talked to the appliance guy we use for everything..he said he had a customer chip hers with a salt shaker, turn it on, and shatter into a million little pieces...going to have to tape the whole top to pull it out so that i do not end up with shards all over.... 8|3|OH no... sorry to hear that|homerlisa|tls899@verizon.net|08:26:35|08/26/2010|
I am so sorry to hear you shattered you stove top.
When we decided on going glass top my DH wanted to clear up counter space and put our microwave above it, I said I didn't think that was a good idea that I was sure to drop something hot out of it right onto the stove top. Ahhh he said. Well my SIL got a stovetop and she has her microwave above it and sure enough her 15yr old granddaughter dropped the glass bowl while taking it out. Her GD said she did not see where it did any damage and the bowl was fine so she didn't tell anyone. Well when they turned it on to cook dinner, it shattered. Looked like someone took a hammer to it. ouch!

My MIL and I both bought one at the same time and we both hate them.
The stupid burners "fade" on and off and cook so unevenly. And they are NOT easy to keep clean like we thought they would be. And they discolor as well.

Not looking forward to it as i can not stand the drips(his doing most of the time)...he does not clean it..I do....spent 2 hrs going store to store, and after last store...he tells me to look at the ring type...UGH!!! why did he not say it the night before.....I am seriously going to have to look into it...was getting psyched for some of the newer features i found in the glass top...will have to go back and look at others..oh well..take out again tomorrow...LOL...
