And I love it. Uses alot less soap & water! I use reg. laundry soap but only need to use about a 1/4 C, maybe a little less depending on how dirty the clothes are. HTH. :)

So I looked it up online. Here's what I found:

Question: Can I Use Regular Detergent in a High-Efficiency Washer?
Can I use regular detergent in a high-efficiency washer if I just use less of it? Are there alternative detergents? Do I always have to use HE detergents in high efficiency washers?
Answer: The answer is very simple - No you should not use regular detergents in a high-efficiency washer. Only he detergents should be used in these washers. High-efficiency front or top-loading washers are designed for low water level and a tumbling washing action. HE detergents are low sudsing and specially formulated to provide clean washloads in these energy-saving washers.

Use of any other kind of detergent in a high efficiency washer, not only can confuse your washer cycle but prevent it from washing or rinsing properly. HE detergents are comparable in price to other detergents; look for the symbol and ensure you are using the correct detergent for your high-efficiency washer.

The Soap and Detergent Association has compiled an excellent High-Efficiency Washers and Detergents Guide that fully explains why you should only use HE detergents in these washers. They also caution that HE-Compatible Detergents may not meet the standards of HE Detergents. I highly recommend this Guide - it is extremely informative.

Hope this helps!

Even the HE can be too sudsy at times, I cut the amount in one half and everything comes out clean and no suds remaining.

Leave the door open for about 15 minutes after washing to let it dry out inside, some people were having problems with the machines smelling moldy at times and this will take care of that.

Always clean the filter in the dryer each time and run hot water over it. It is a fine mesh as it will clog up and the clothes do not dry properly.
