i have the usual amoxicillan and hydrocodone
but last nite my mouth hurt sooo bad i set in bed and cried
i think i scared kevin to pieces
i have an abcess and the infection is just surrounding the tooth
i can't seem to get any relief
any ideas would be appreciated

Have you tried warm (almost hot) water with salt mixed in (heavy on the salt)? I used a small glass and lots of salt and then rinsed my mouth out with that and it did give some relief.

a common remedy. He said that would burn the gum tissue. He suggested that you swish whiskey or something like that back and forth in the area of the tooth, like you were swishing mouthwash. Of course, swallowing it afterward would help you sleep.

i had been having problems with my teeth for yrs....abcess would come.......id take pencillen...it would go away......kept coming back......
i didnt want to have my front teeth pulled......so i kept on treating the problem........my dentist kept saying it could cause heart problems.......
i thought he had gone nuts.........finally i gave in......had them pulled and got dentures.......later on my heart started acting up....i went to heart specilist..

They sell this at Walgreens and probably other drug stores too. It is called Red Cross Complete Medication Kit for toothache. It has a tweezers type thing, tiny baby cotton balls and a bottle of liquid that is pure clove oil. You grab one of the little cotton balls with the tweezers and dunk it in the bottle of liquid. Then you apply it to the tooth for 1 minute. It tastes kind of nasty, but it worked better than anything else I've ever tried. I also got Dent's extra strength toothache gum which is clove based too. It's really thick so if there is a cavity or a filling falls out you can push it down into the sore spot. Good luck hun! I just had a molar pulled last month, but before I could get into the dentist that is what got me through it. 13|4|This really works! We've had to do it for a dry socket which can be just as painful.
