I had surgery on July 29th (to have Thyroid removed) and then on Aug 4th, I went to our local hospital due to the swelling of my neck
and a could feel some kinda knot in my throat. They did a CT scan and found out I had a hematoma. Todd had to take me back to UAMS (3hrs away)
from where we live. UAMS had done the Thyroid surgery. During the 1st, surgery they found a small piece of cancer and sent it off to pathology.
Apparently after they had cut off the part of the tissue that had cancer, that is when the hematoma started to develop. They took me back
into surgery Thursday night fixed the hematoma, which was by then already infected. Now I am having to PACK the incision & it has to heal
from the inside out! Right now since it is draining so good we are changing the bandages about 4 times a day. That goodness Home health is
coming by to help - it can be a mess. We don't know the results yet from the cancer or culture from the hematoma. Just pray that is not MRSA,
which I feel like it's not but one never knows! At least they did get the thyroid and all of the nodgles out.
